Period trouble

I hate being a girl. I'm 16 and got my period about a year ago. I've only used pads but now I want to go swimming and stuff, and I know how much easier tampons would be. I've been trying to insert a tampax pearl today for about 3 hours and have read every instruction there is. I tried about 2 months ago, too. I've relaxed (as much as I could) tried all the different positions, and even put vaseline on the end of it even though I know thats bad. I just need to get it in. It hurts. I KNOW im putting it in the right hole and I've tried every different angle. I am small, lol, but I can get it in about 1/4 of the way, but then it just wont go and im scared to force it and it hurts!! this sucks, I need real advice :'(

this being a personal question, you don't need to answer.

If you're a virgin, it'll be very dificult getting it in. The first time will hurt, but after it'll stop hurting. You just have to get use to it. The first time I used a tampon I cried ! lol. so don't worry, it's normal.

it depends on how often you use them. the mroe you use them, the easier it becomes. the less you use them, the harder it is to get use to them. I'd say to try to go a full period and only wear pads when you're home or when you're going to bed.

it might help !

I would try to make sure you're A) relaxed and B) doing it at the right angle of your vagina. If you push too far up or too far down, it will hit resistance and hurt badly. It shouldn't hurt if you're doing it at the correct angle. It sounds weird but maybe insert your finger inside you and see how your vagina is first, you can see how it's shaped and what angle to insert the tampon in.

Feel the angle of your vagina first with your finger. Then try inserting the tampon while laying on your back. Try to relax and don't worry about it going too far in...it won't. Use a little bit of vasaline if you need to. that's ok. As you are putting it in move it slightly up and down from belly to back. This will help guide it in the right direction.
Have fun swimming!

well, the first time I used one I put my leg on a toilet seat. so my leg was at a more or less 90 degree angle. and then I inserted it, and when it hurt I would stop, then I would continue, and so on. The second time was MUCH easier. Let me warn you though, make sure you put in the CORRECT size. If your period is light do not put in a heavy tampon, it will hurt like all hell when you want to remove it.

email me if you want to know anything else !! =)

im a virgin and im 16 too. I started using tampons on my last period and it took me so long to get it in because I was using a big one. try using a small one to start with. I got it in and it didn't hurt one bit, it's so easy once you get the first one in. it took me a while and I must have read the instructions so many times but when I got it in, it was fine. don't worry. I stood up and bent for my first time. just relax. I know its hard but try, just think of something else while you do it, I did and it just slid in,

good luck xx
