How to ask my friend out?

I want to ask my friend out but I am scared. I just met herbut I believe I know her good enough. I am a nerd and she is the most popular girl. Help!

honestly, if what you're saying is true, you probably arent going to get her for long, popular people enjoy being popular, and dont take kindly to having someone lowering their popularity(pisses me off honestly). my advice on this situation is to simply mention that you would like to start seeing her more often(hopefully she wont catch on immediately), be sure that other guys dont start coming onto her, and eventually you can lure her in far enough that she'll forget about her popularity and come to you(although that may not have been the best wording, I've done it before, dont worry)
