Hi,

I've had hamsters my whole life--my current little guy is a 2-year-old Siberian hamster named Zippy. If you bought this hamster from this woman, then ALL of her hamsters are probably infected. She should be shut down for selling sick animals. Poor things. Report her.

Secondly, wet tail is deadly. If your hamsters is not eating or drinking and has persistent wetness on his butt, it's wet tail. He should be taken to a vet for antibiotics, that over the counter stuff rarely works. Wet tail is caused by stress and is highly infectious. Take him to a vet immediately.
