I can't speak for any Planned Parenthood except the one I go to, but the one I have experience with is great.

For your first visit, call first and make an appointment, and tell them you want birth control pills.
Show up for your appointment 15 minutes to a half hour early.
You go in and talk to the lady at the desk--Tell her your name and why you're there.
She'll give you some paperwork. Fill it all out, and then you'll see a nurse who will help you pick out birth control.
Make sure you tell them you don't want to pay using insurance, you want to pay in cash.
Most likely, it will be very cheap.

I'm not sure - but, if you look in the phone book there are probley some local women's clinics. Most of the time they carry the contraceptive pill and will be able to help you.

Go to http://maps.google.com and type in YOUR CITY, STATE, Planned Parenthood and you will get the address and phone of any local clinic.
In your case for Wash., DC there are like 8 inside the beltway (one is (800) 551-7328) including Silver Springs and Falls Church plus one in Fairfax, Waldorf, Annapolis, Gaithersburg, Baltimore, etc.
They should also tell you of some of the alternatives such as injection, patch, and others.
I'm glad that you are wisely going to protect yourself from pregnancy.

Good Luck!!
