I've had my hips pierced before but I did it myself (mind you, I've never done piercing courses or anything) and I decided to freeze my skin a bit before actual piercing it. Didn't hurt me one bit. I barely felt it actually. They were quite a bit to take care of, especially when people went to hug, tickle or lift me up. /: But was worth it, absolutely loved them. I didn't use the right bars though (I used belly bars) and because of that, I was scared my body would reject it much faster and I'd get bad scars. I took them out about a month later and the scars have gone, mind you that was about 6 months ago.
I'm getting them re-pierced professionally this time though in a few weeks. :]
At the moment, I have angel bites and they didn't hurt much at all. Just a second of pain which just felt like a big pinch really and that's it. I even have braces and I have no trouble with them. Can't wait to get my hips pierced again though :D
If you're more confident about it though, I don't think it'd hurt as much. :]

It completely depends on your pain tolerance, for some people it hurts a lot and others barley feel it. Weird how that works and it sucks for people who want to know because you don't know if it's going to hurt for you.

Expect a lot of pain, it will hurt less. If you go expecting no pain it's going to hurt a lot.

getting barbells or getting interthreaded jewlery (anchor) are both ways to pierce the hip. I suggest the anchor. a small needle is used and it goes inside the skin. you are then able to screw on gems. I think they look better than the barbells. the barbells also have the tendency to push out or not heal. the pain only lasts up to 15 seconds per piercing. the site of the piercing will be raw. but the pain is a slight bit worse then the nose, lip, and ear. the piercing may hurt if snagged or rubbed the wrong way. so please be careful with them and keep them clean.

it depends on pain tolerence
but holy hell
when I was getting mine done it hurt really bad becuase that area of your skin is highly sensative
it hurts
but make sure those are what you want because your body will reject them after 4-6 months and then you'll have scars
so make sure you want those piercings
