There are no free legal versions of Photo Shop. There are demo versions available and I seem to remember Leo Laporte talking about a MUCH lower cost program, but I can't remember what its name was. Sorry.

Just found the program. It's picasa and it's free from google. It doesn't have the power of Photo Shop, nor the $600 price tag.
