if I travel abroad and make or receive a call, can the country I am in be somehow shown on my phone bill?

When you make a call from abroad, just like in your home country what happens is:

The phone sends a signal to a satellite, which sends a signal to the handset your calling. Everything necessary is received by the phone company and added to your bill.

So no matter what country your in, you're gonna get billed.

It all depends, my phone bill is very vague and doesn't list the phone numbers, location or time. Just check your last cellphone bill, if it's very detailed then yes it will show. If not, you have nothing to worry about.

Ohhh, I'm sorry. I completely misunderstood the question. Yeah I think it will depend on how clear your phone bill is, have a look at past bills and see how clear they are.

when you will go abroad , you can make a call in the world where you want but the call charges will be ISD call rates .so these are costly in comparision to the local charges.
but when you make a call from any where in the world these call charges will be added in your phone bill.

because you make a call the signals will transmit from the satellite and connect the call any where and the call charge will be added in your bill automatically. so you need not to worry about the bill . but confirm the isd call rates.
