No! Rats are very sociable animals and need there cages spot cleaned at least once a day. You should never leave a rat in a cage by itself for too long. They thrive on the company they receive from their owners and other pets. They could become ill from worrying about where you've gone, or even could catch something from their cage not being cleaned.

Pet rats
I live with my mom 4 days and my dad 4 days and I want to get pet rats at my dads house but he doesnt want the responsibilty of taking care of them while im at my moms. will they be ok for 4 days if I put extra food and water in its cage?
