What kind of discharge happens before a period?

im 13 and I havent had my period yet. I heard that you get a discharge before your period, what is a discharge because I do find some weird white stuff on my underwear. is that a discharge?

Yup, that weird white stuff is discharge, it's the vagina's way of cleaning itself and it doesn't nessecarily mean your period is coming anytime soon, I got it about a year before I even started my period.
If it's yellow/green or another weird colour that can be an indication of a problem like an STI or other infection but otherwise it's completely normal (white/creamy colour is normal).
Before(and especially after) your period you may get some brownish discharge which is just blood and discharge mixed.
