Why am i getting my periods so far apart?

for some reason I get my period like once every 6 months
I dont understand why bcoz I first got them when I was like 11-12 and they used to come once a month but for the past couple years they hardly ever come?
anyone know whats wrong with me?

also how would I know if got pregnant I I dont get the chance to miss a period
what other ways are there of tellin, incase the condom rips during sex?

Irregular periods are common in some women, but they could also be sign of a bigger problem, like ovarian cysts (which are genetic).

You should visit your OB/GYN and discuss with him/her your irregular periods. Since it does make pregnancy confusing, perhaps going on birth control just for regulating your periods would be an option. In many women with irregular periods, the birth control will help you have one a month, as well as preventing pregnancy.

Irregular periods are hard to deal with. You should go to your OB/GYN and have her put you on birthcontrol. .not just for birth control reasons but to help with your periods, and at least if you are on birth control and a condom breaks you're covered. (my 10 year old son came from a broken condom. they do break)
