Like it's been said here before, periods are not very regular in the beginning, and "the beginning" could mean the first couple of years after you start getting your period. It's normal for it to be off - late, or early, or skipping, so don't worry too much about it. With most girls it normalizes itself eventually, although with some it doesn't and is just irregular in its normal state. If you really want it to be precise for convenience's sake, then birth control pills that have a set schedule can set your period to a precise schedule as well, to the point where you'll know not only which day it will come but what part of the day as well If you don't want to deal with pills and are still worried about your period, talk to your doctor about it, that's always the most efficient resource.
