Odal - when you're a female and have had your period for a while, you know the difference between a menstrual cramp and pain from elsewhere...
Some people actually do get cramps that bad... to the point where they cant do anything for a day or two. So it's probably nothing to worry about. But obviously you cant keep going like that, so go see a doctor, they'll be able to help you, either with the pill, or stronger cramp medication.
poor odal. hes just trying to help lol. there are other things that can cause cramps that feel like period pain. I once had a really bad virus and the pain from that was similar but worse than period pain. when I eat brussel sprouts I get the same pain as period pain. point being is that yes it may not be your period.
Is the pain in your actual stomach? Because period cramps are usually in the lower abdomen where your uterus is. I have gotten cramps so bad that I have felt nauseous, but not actual stomach cramps. If the pain is your actual stomach, then I would go to the doctor and have it checked out. I had major stomach cramps so bad once, I couldn't move and it turned out I needed to get my appendix removed.
If it's in your mid- lower abdomen, then they probably are terrible period cramps. In that case, take some asprin, get yourself a heating pad and try to relax.. Avoid caffeine, greasy foods and any drinks with carbonation in them. I would also avoid any food thats gassy. Gas makes cramps ten times worse.
hey girl.
I agree with people up there except for your nurse. First off im pretty sure nurses arent supposed to give you pain killers or any kind of medication. I know that for a fact because I know how it feels. Second, it could be all of those options above, but if you have painful periods it could be that. I have very painful periods that make me sick to my stomach and not be hungry and usually have really bad migranes. it could be many things so I would get that checked out. feel better

Yesterday, when I was at school, my stomach started cramping and I went down to the school nurse. Then the nurse gave me pain killers and I took them. I thought the cramping will stop right after taking the pills so I go back to my class...one hour later I go back to the nurse and stated crying because the pain tripled, even after taking the pills.
The nurse told me that my stomach shouldn't be hurting so much during periods...
What could be the reason my stomach hurt so much??
