Period and tampons

I am twelve. I got my period for the first time last month. how old do I have to be or how long do I have to wait to wear a tampon?

It is normal to feel nervous when using a tampon for the first time however u dont have to be any age or wait any time.. u can use a tampon straight away, however as i said u may feel nervous using it at the start so it is sometimes best to wait a few cycles and NEVER insert a tampon when you are nto on your period..some girls think this is a good idea to try it out but u shouldnt do that! Also tampons come in different sizes and it is best to pick a smaller size for the first time u use it.

I am 13 In I started having my period last march (2006)
I have always used tampons. you have to use tampons to go swimming or if your a dancer so I say that you can be any age.

I was very nervous when I first started as I was the youngest in my class and nobody knew what to do. I told my mum, for the first 4 years I used pads but now I am using tampons they are much better and I feel a lot more comfortable. you can start at any age. what I did was try them to see how you are I was very nervous but I got there in the end.
