Yep. Since alcohol often causes a person to shed their inhibitions, its really a bad excuse anyway. All it means in the end is: ''I wanted to do it already, but the booze gave me the encouragement.''
If you want to blame your actions on alcohol, fine, lie to yourself. Then you can blame the consequences on your lack of moderation.
I find myself rolling my eyes whenever someone says "but I was really drunk when I did it". It's not like saying that is a 'get out of jail free' card. Mind you, anyone who forgives someone for that kinda excuse, generally deserves what they get- one complete loser of a human being that they're associated with.
yes. whiile drinking does lower someones inhabitions they had the choice to drink it. they could have put it down or have stoped, they should also know there own li mits and act smarter. too many teens and people say "I was drunk" as an excuse" ... but its there problem, they were the ones drinking, and they were the ones who took there drinking a bit too far

People blaming being drunk for their actions?

Does anyone else find it really irritating when people use "I was drunk" as an excuse that they did something. I had friends in high school that would always cheat on their boyfriends while drunk and they thought it was okay because of being under the influence. People are just too stupid to know when to stop and know how to control themselves - overall I think its pretty lame when people use it as an excuse why they had sex with someone and stuff like that.
Opinions?
