Party help..

Kali Karpathia..MEH Asked by xxkarpathiaxx about 1 year ago, 4 answers.

I want to have a party, but I want it to be formal.. like a Prom or something.. I want it to be fun, I need it to be controlled.

I was kinda leaning on a Masquerade but I don't want it to be hard for people to have to find masks..

How would I...

decorate?? I don't want it to be cheesey or stupid.. I want it to be mature and definately grown-up!!

For the theme, I wanted to do Vampires or something along those lines because ALL of my friends are as completely into it as I am.

Here are my problems::
A) I don't want to mess it up and B) I need a lot of help because I want to be a good host..

SO WHAT DO I DO??

Who's that? Oh, me. Answered by maddie1414 on Nov 25, 2008, 07:46PM

-ahh, planning a party. it's hell and it's heaven. prepare yourself... (:

-to not feel so stressed out. if you are happy with your party, others will be.

-make sure the invitations are CLEAR on that it is formal and annouce the theme.

-wear red. statiscially proven to make you more confident. plus I think it would look cute with the color of your hair.

-where are you planning on having the party? your house? or are you seriously going to go formal and rent a place? I think your house would be the most convienant although it may be harder to keep people under control there.

-vampires is a cute idea. masquerade sounds like tons of fun and people can get creative with the masks. (make them themselves or rent from a costume shop or borrow from the school's drama room...ya know whatever goes. they will be in charge of finding the masks, not you.)

-make sure you have a variety of music so everybody's taste is included. for example: a hard rock fan won't appreciate a party with the jonas brothers all night long. happy

HAVE FUN!

Well, If you have the money you could hire somebody. If not, you could decorate with purple, red, black, and darker blues. Obviously don't use streamers. I can't really think of much. Just go for darker things. When sending the invitations, make them the style you want your party to be, so they get what you are talking about.

Pick your color scheme first then decorate each chair with the same color the 2 and color decorate it with a bow at the back of it,

then grab matching table cloths decorate the tops with glitter stars matching hellium balloons,

then get 2 male friends to be standing at the door dressed as draculars but they will be kind of the door men checking the invites!!

you can be the waitress serving shots have food color red to make it look like blood.

thats all I can think of for now, I have to go now..
all the best

I personally think the masquerade idea sounds really cool... and I don't think it would be too hard to find masks.

For the color scheme, you should go with dark colors in keeping with the vampire theme, but don't go all-out black or it will be super gloomy and not fun!

For music, I wouldn't play too much pop if it's a vampire thing... that just seems out of place to me. Some Paramore-ish bands would be perfect.

Decide just how formal you want to go, and what the purpose of it is. Why are you having the party? Just because? Do people want to go out and buy a fancy dress (or suit for the guys) for the party?

Best of luck happy
