in my room Asked by kia_babi 10 months ago, 6 answers.

Why are parents such as*h*les? Mine will get mad at me b/c I dont tell them anything, then when I do tell them something they wanna have a b***h fit, like omg when I move out, im not gonna talk to them for years! If that!

Am I wrong for that?

yes you are. I have absolutely psychotic parents and I was on my own since I was 16...sure it gave me the freedom to do a lot of stupid things, but now, years later, I see that a lot of their advice came true, and when they demanded answers from me and where I was and with who and what I did, they were just worried. They're still psycho, but me leaving and not talking to them also calmed them down a lot, when we started talking again I gained their trust and now we even started interacting more so like a family and we don't try to kill eachother as often. it depends, every family is different, just calm down, and try to see it through their eyes. they are worried sick, you're that age when everything goes haywire and hormones kick in and you feel like they're smothering you. try to calm down a bit, I always say COMPROMISE! that's the key. meet eachother mid way, and work things out.

parents at the end of the day just care about your weelbeing. some are overprotective and thats oubviusly gonna be annoying but you'll thank them for it in the end.

The best way to get allong with them is to compromise with them, a time for example and stick to it. you'll gain there trust and then be able to do things on your own. trust doesn't come just like that though, it takes time and effort

and maybe you are doing things you shouldn't be doing...like at 16 I thought that smoking all the weed I could get my hands on, drinking like a fish, and snorting coke, and slicing the hell out of my wrists was perfectly fine and they should leave me the hell alone, I could do what I want! boy was I a dumb one...but a lot of what I did was also because of them hitting me and my mother going crazy and stuff thath appened when I was little (post traumatic stress disorder) etc...it took me YEARS and some medication and therapy to get my head out my butt. but not a lot of people get there...most people just stay hard headed. so it depends on whether they're paranoid or you really are doing something bad...I dunno, your famz.

Your parents have strengths and weaknesses just like you - maybe if you looked in the mirror, you'd understand where they're coming from - I would not feel superior - you need each other in your futures, none are guaranteed tomorrow - be Thankful they care.

Of course you're not wrong. Your parents are treating you unfairly. Perhaps you should sit down and tell them how you feel. If they decide to have a nag-fest when you do, you could consider emancipating yourself, or legally freeing yourself from your parents so they can't bother you anymore. If you don't feel like you are ready for that there are many adoption agencies in the area. Research those and perhaps you could actually find yourself getting new parents!! You are NOT wrong for being angry at them. You're trying to share your life with them, and they scream at you. It's not your fault. Hope I helped! =)
