Ovulation! when is it really??

How to you calculate when you are ovulating? I have heard many different things but I don't know which is true and I don't remember them. I've heard its the second week after the end of your period or the week before when your most likey to get pregnant. I don't know! Can someone please help me out? thank you

Women ovulate at different times. Science is even theorizing that women ovulate more than once in a month (this would account for fraturnal twins with different fathers).

I hope this isn't a question to formulate birth control on--because you WILL get pregnant without protection.

But in answer to your question the best way to know when you are ovulating is by your "basal temperature," which can increase by 0.5 to 1.6 degrees. You won't feel the shift, but you can detect it by using a basal body temperature (BBT) thermometer (found at Kmart). The temperature spike indicates that you've ovulated (releasing an egg stimulates the production of the hormone progesterone which raises body temperature).
