so I dyed my hair dark brown and it turned black I had a word with a friend who is also a hairdresser who suggest I brought nice and easy born blonde which would turn in ginger so I could re-dye it a lighter brown but I've got a mix of light blonde (roots) and bright orange (it looks reder in the picture because it was still wet) through the rest of my hair and decided I want to see what it looks like blonde before I dye it back brown if I put another born blonde on it will it turn the bright orange blonde? since it stripped out the black?

no it won't trust me, I went through the exact same thing just two weeks ago. I even bought the same born blonde stuff, lol. if you dye it again with the BORN BLONDE dye, it will turn out the same orangey color but just a little lighter. so to get it fully pale yellow blonde you would have to do AT LEAST 5 treatments of that hair dye. it puts your hair through hell, after 5 born blonde treatments on my originally black hair, I gave up even though I was almost there to pale blonde, because my hair was so screwed. I dyed it back black the next day. I would suggest you go to a professional, seriously.

well, if you want something like a lighter brown you should try 2 use 82 which is like about like a light brown but if you go darker then try 2 look at the little samples of hair they have 4 the color you want and then go 2 a salon or hair dresser and try 2 look 4 the same 1 and ask the person 2 do it that color because they will and make sure you really want that color before you do it.

good luck

Thanks for the answer's a lot of people don't seem to be understanding me though I don't want to go back brown just yet I wanted to try it out blonde just to see if it suits me and I'm looking for away to figure it out myself I've been to professionals before only to have it turn out brassy yellow with bright ginger roots but this time the roots have took but the rest of my hair hasn't I also have work saturday and my current hairdresser refuses to blonde it except highlights (very few he puts in) so it looks like I'm going to have to dye it back brown by the way if I dye it back brown now it wont turn green will it ?

trust me the SAME thing happened to me, roots were blonde, and the rest was ginger. roots take lighter colors faster then the rest of your hair, thats why in the instructions the tell you to dye the length of your hair first, and half way through that dyeing process, do the roots for an even color. I guess we both didn't listen :[ ANYWAY, when I dyed my ginger/blonde hair back to black, it literally turned out GREY with random blue spots in it. it was HOOORRIBLE, so I had to do 2 treatments of black hair dye to get it normal. so if you want to go back to brown, I suggest you do two dye treatments, because it most likely will turn green, or some other weird color.
