Orange roots!

Asked by toledo_totally 3 months ago, 1 answer.

I have blond highlights in my naturally brown hair. Last night I had my mom apply a mixture of 20 vol developer, lightener and shampoo to break up my roots as I had done once before. I must have made it too strong and/or left it on too long because my...

roots are now orange! In addition to that, my mom missed a little bit of the brown. My hair colorist isn't able to get me in anytime soon and I haven't managed to find a salon to correct it yet. I was wondering if lightening the roots some more, and then applying a semi-permanent toner might help? If so, what kind of toner should I buy? I assume a blue one, but I don't know which brands are best. I plan on going to Sally's Beauty supplies and doing a strand test to see if it will work. I'd like a caramel color, if possible. Help!
