Only child vs.siblings

i dun smile much... so here's my best one! Asked by butterfly_kiss3z about 1 year ago, 8 answers.

Alrighty, so I have to do this social science research/ research paper! And I've decided to choose my topic on an only child vs. Siblings! There's always the whole sterotype where people would say an only child is less sociable and their brats cause...

they're spoiled!! - but I find that so untrue, cause I'm not like that and I'm an only child! So I want to have your input!

State wheather you're an only child or not, and answer:
Is it important for children to have siblings?
Do you think that only children may be at a disadvantage when they're older?
Then add anything else that you think can help me with this topic!

I'm not an only child, I have one younger brother and we are 8 years apart. It was really hard growing up because of the huge age gap in between us, we were constantly arguing and at each other's throats. He was the spoiled one because he was the baby. I was supposed to be the responsible older role model, that didn't happen. We get along great now that he's older (15) and not so much of a child anymore.

is it important for children to have siblings?
I think that it is. It's not neccasary but I think it's a good learning experience to have a sibling. You learn how to deal with people at a young age, how to deal with conflict also. It's also nice to have someone there for you at all times and to have that special bond with someone.

do you think that only children may be at a disadvantage when they're older?
It depends on how they were raised. Not all parents spoil their only child, but a lot of them do because they are the only child. If they are spoiled and over protected, yes they have a disadvantage when they get out in the real world.

I am not an only child.
I think its somewhat important for children to have siblings
I dont think they are at a disadvantage I actually heard that the older siblings are more likely to be sucessfull in the world. But, I'm the younger, and that id totally opposite for me! lol my sister is such a loser...

oh and maybe you could compare like those that have all brothers, then all sisters, then brothers and sisters. Like how they are most likey going to develope an what kinds of relationships will each group be more prone to hold as they get older

hey.
I thnk that its better to have a sibling than not , I have to older brothers and they drive me nutts but I hoestly think that they help with your confidence, defend you , and can be highly amusing at times , also they stick up for you!
I think you must add the people whom are only child can someti, mes be a bit selfish my friend goes mental if she has to share anything , shes just not used to it.
I hope I helped , and I hope you get a good grade.
