Can you transfer cell phones?

Asked by palmer007 about 1 year ago, 1 answer.

I have an old phone I don't use. I want to give it to a friend who just lost her phone and needs to live out the three months left in her contract before she can buy a new phone ... can you hook up any phone with any company ie ... with bell??? I don't know if you will get what I'm asking but give it a shot.

To switch the company and use your old phone they would have to give her a new card for inside of it.

She needs to contact her cellular phone company right away so they can suspend the phone. (making calls in and out impossible) then she won't be charged for the minutes used.

If you’ve lost your cellular phone, you’ll still have to pay your monthly cellular service fees if you’re locked into a contract. According to the terms of most agreements, it’s up to you to replace your phone if you’ve owned it less than 24 months.

She could try asking them if they can put a card into your old phone but some companies only work with certain models.
