Frankly...believing anything you hear pre-election is folly...Presidential elections are all about "winning"...once it's won, picking thru the "promises" and see which ones can actually be done.
Having been raised by an attorney, married to an attorney, plus several years of living on the "streets" my personal radar go straight up when I hear "smooth talkin'"... and Obama is all about that, for sure. McCain...geez, it was only four years ago, he was a Democrat's dream...conservative, he is not...but again THIS IS AN ELECTION...it ain't about truth...
Ron Paul for president...I wish...
p
Where leevan did (hmmm such as racism, kill arabs etc yes) come from? What facts do you possibly posses that McCain is racist? And kill Arabs, Yea I'm kinda for that myself if you call killing terrorists, killing arabs.
And racist- McCain didn't spend 20 years with his wife in a church whose Pastor the Reverend Wright, led and listening to his bigoted hate of anyone not black, and listen to him spew Anti-American rhetoric about. Yea, that's the guy I want leading this very racially mixed nation.
Bigotry doesn't belong anywhere, but it sure as hell doesn't belong in the White House.
Both parties are in sad shape if these are the best of the field. But you better get out of your starry eyed need for a Democrat in the White House and vote for McCain, this trip.
gdoom,
When I read McCain's tax plan it is a realistic one. Obama's is a pipe dream. He says that 95% of Americans will not see a tax increase. He has a slew of government giveaways that he wants to do, and the wealthiest 5% are going to pay for it?
Part of McCain's health care package will get rid of the gold plated health plans that help cause high costs in health care. People will have more choice in their health care providers.
Obama wants to spread the wealth around. That is a socialist point of view. We live in a free market society and it should remain so.
Of the two men, Obama has been in national politics for less than 1 term as an Illinois Senator, and most of that he has spent on the Presidential Campaign trail. McCain has been a Senator for over 20 years.
Obama's choice of associates let's me know if he doesn't believe what they say and do, he is sorely lacking in good judgement. Neither conclusion makes for a good Presidential candidate. McCain fought for this country and was a prisoner of war.
Mrs. Obama actually made the statement in a speech that she had never been proud of this country until Obama was nominated as the Democratic Presidential hopeful. Never been proud of this country before? Not particularly 1st Lady material there.
And race should not play a role in this. There will be many blacks who will vote for him solely for that reason. And unfortunately there will be whites who will vote against him for that reason. I have already cast a ballot for McCain, and it was against Obama. Not for his race, religion or his good looks. It was because of the choice McCain is certainly the better candidate.

Obama or mcain
