Q: Are nuns allowed to read fiction books?
A: Yes they can read fiction, they however are not supposed to read romance/sexual novels or things that are blaphamus to god such as vampies, other religions, etc.

A: Every order of nuns is different. When I was a bicycle racer we bought our custom jerseys and skinsuits from an order of nuns who made bicycle clothes. Some nuns belong to such strict orders that they aren't allowed to own any personal property and spend nearly every waking moment praying while others live lives that are very typical. Some orders make wine, teach or work as nurses or social workers or as I discovered make bicycle clothes.
I suspect there are orders that are very strict about what nuns read and others that have no interest.
