Not allowed to have a boyfriend

I just turned 17 this month and im not allowed to have a boyfriend. Until college! By that time I wont even noe how to b in a relationship. My mom worries that I might get pregnant or get distracted from my skoolwork. Im already smart. What if some boy really likes me and I have to giv him the bad news? Sometimes I feel like dating a girl.

Your mom is just being protective. My mom is the same way. She said I couldn't date until I was 15 but I just started hanging out with my boyfriend and then after she met him and liked him, I told her we were dating. She didn't even mention the sixteen thing. Hope things work out for you. Also, your mom will freak out more if you go lesbian on her than if you start dating without her consent . Good Luck.

B.)have a boyfriend behind their back.(I had my first boyfriend when I was 8. but my parents didn't know
C.) Wait untill you turn 18 and it will be legal for you to do whatever you want

Yeah I think your mom is being overly protective but I guess that's a mother's job. She can only protect you as much as you want to be protected so in the end it's still your choice if you want to date or not. She might not approve of the matter but everybody has to grow up someday.

I know not all mom's are reasonable whenever it comes to their parenting and you might be crossing some uncharted territory with her and she might flip but you know your mom better than I do.
