Nobody accepts me because I'm smart

I'm known as the nerd in school, mostly because of my big vocabulary..I don't like getting bad grades, and all the 'cool' people think it's good to fail, so I only have one friend. I try to tell myself not to bother with them, but it really makes me mad that nobody likes me because I'm smart. I don't really like them either, but I don't understand why nobody likes me because I don't like getting bad grades..so does anyone know why?

They don't like you because they are jealous. You want to succeed and you have goals. They have nothing.They prefer to kick back and relax at the most important time of their lives and they don't see school as important yet. It's not that they think it's cool to fail, they just don't have the drive that you do and they think being cool and hanging out is more important than their education. When they are older and trying to get jobs, that's when they will realize, "hey school was kind of important, wasn't it?" They will regret it. Just be nice to them, kill them with kindness, and show them their silly teasing doesn't bother you. You are cooler than they are. You care about your future.

I used to hang out with "the cool people" that thought grades werent important...their dumb

once you stop caring abput what they care about...they get over it too
and then you become friends because to you their not cool

just ignore them , because they are not mart , they want to drag you with them and be failure like them , try to be friends with people who care about their future and care about yours ,

PERSONALLY I THiNK BAD GRADES..DOESNT GIVE YOU THE FACTOR THAT YOU ARE COOL OR NOT!!! JUST BECAUSE YOU SMART...FORGET THEM YOU MAKING GOOD GRADES YOU HAVE SOMETHING going IN YOU LIFE..I RATHER BE AROUND A SMART PERSON INSTEAD OF SOMEBODY WHO'S GETTING BAD GRADES...iM COOL AND SMART I LOVE HANGING AROUND INTELLIGENT PEOPLE...DO YOU AT LEAST TRY 2 TALK 2 THOSE PEOPLE???

I'm in Junior year and I still get called a nerd, but I take it as a compliment because I know they're rght: I am smarter than everyone else in my class. If it means that I am a passionate, well-rounded, intelligent individual, then I enjoy the title.

Just wait a few years-- maybe this is just my school, but nowadays people who fail all their classes are looked down upon and made fun of. It used to be cool, now it's just stupid.

ok heres the truth HIGH SCHOOL IS FAKE! it always has been and it will always be that way.all the popular kids end up as nobodys and all the smart people turn out like Bill Gates and doctors, bascially all the smart people who make good grades in school rule over the *cool* kids dont sweat it because in the long run nobody in school will ever have anthing to do with you once you graduate.

AS for the whole big words thing, I have this to say:
never lose sight of the fact that language is about communication, so don't forget your target audience, if you are talking to someone that does not have the vocabulary skills you do, and you use words they don't understand. Well you have effectively failed at your goal to communicate, because the message was not recieved.
Anyway grades are very important to your future, so keep them up if you can.

I am not trying to offend you but I know this kid, in the same situation as you, and he brags about his smarts without bragging, you know. He'll just act like he's king. Do you do that, because that could be your problem. You can be smart, have a large vocabulary, and have friends at the same time. Just watch what you say when you are around certain people. They will grow to accept your knowledge. My punk/stoner friends get a kick out of me because I am always reading a book or studying European History but that is why I fit in with them because I am different. Maybe you can find people that you have nothing in common with except the fact that you are different. That is the way it is with me and my friends and we learn from each other.
