Most questions accumulate more answers over time...so, in the first day, they might only get one answer, then a week later, get another...that's part of the reason older stuff looks like people helped out more.
Fact is, we've had the busiest 4 days in history this week so far, averaging 110K visitors / day, and more than 1200 members logging in daily...of course, I'd always like to see the numbers higher, however, we've been growing quite a bit this year
I totally agree with xxangelcakexx. Thats why I rated her answer
I have noticed that too. When I go to the question asked a looong time ago, there are loots of answers on most of them.. The averge number of answers on questions there is like 10 or 20 and maybe more... (im not saying you cant find a question with 1 or more answers)
And now days there are so few answers on each question ... Only very popular or easy questions get lots of answers. For example some question like: Whats you favourite colour? you dont need much help here right? Anyone can answer that lol.. But for more important questions that mean to people, and people have spent time on them, noone answers them...
That suck really !!!
I don't know about everyone else, but I know that when I see a question that one or two people have already answered with the answer that I myself would give, I don't feel the need to answer it again with the same exact answer. Why do you need 15 people giving you the same exact answer?
Also, some questions are constantly repeated, over and over. It gets kind of old, like why can't you just look at the 10,000 other questions that are just the same and have already been answered?
Lastly, if it is a homework question I usually don't answer because that is something you should be doing on your own.
Keep in mind that as Fun Advice grows, so do the number of questions asked daily. It has gotten to the point that we often can't keep up with the new questions so many slip by getting only a couple of answers.
Another thing to consider is the way the Title is worded. If it's just Helppp that isn't going to generate as much viewer interest as say Help, my brother keeps beating on me. You may not be able to judge a book by its cover, but we do determine whether we want to view and possibly answer a question based upon its Title.
Simply a Rose to brighten your day,
And maybe lessen the cares in your way;
And also, too, to help you to know,
That in knowing you, many others grow!
Well, since a few of us or more have been getting answers to certain questions, maybe none of us can keep up with all the questions this site gets daily.
So, maybe that's the problem with questions getting 1 or no answers at all. You'd spot a page with a few answers here and there, but, since this site is growing, I believe its kind of hard. Another thing, some people can't answer the question if it doesn't make sense, or its too hard.
Eventually, questions do get answered.

No advice?

No advice?
I went back to pages 2350 and every question around then were answered with 4 or more answers. Now I look at question that have been asked recently and about 60% of questions are un answered or have 1 response. Why dont people help out as much anymore?
