Q: Nikon d70 help!

Okay so my nikon isn't allowing me to take pictures. I believe the lens is alright and the batteries are fully charged and I'm doing everything normally but for some reason it isn't allowing me to take pictures? The error thing hasn't popped up yet so I assume the issue isn't malignant...ANY nikon users that can give me ANY advice besides resetting it (which it won't allow me to do for some reason) or charging the battery would be gladly appreciated.

Any and all suggestions would be wonderful.

A: So you can turn it ON, but it won't let you take pictures? LCD screen doesn't say anything when you try taking pictures? Sorry if I'm gonna ask dumb questions, but I just want to get it all covered. Is the battery put in correctly? Is your memory card in? If it is an SLR/DSLR, is your lens put in correctly? Have you tried taking the batteries out, waiting 10secs and putting it back in? That's the few questions I can think of at the moment -lack of sleep- but do let me know how you go.
