New Year's Resolution: Lose weight get in shape for 2006

My resolution this year is pretty simple: I'd like to be in better shape. Sure, I'm not that fat, but I keep feeling like the more gray hair I see on my head, the more my stomach has turned...

from iron hard to hardly iron....well, it's time to do something.

So the New Year's Resolution this year for 2006 is to get in shape. Of course, last year, my resolution was to go independent...that's happening soon, but technically, not the exact year I had planned. I'd like this get in shape lose weight resolution to happen more quickly.

I've spilled it - there you go. Can anybody help me?

There are a number of ways to get in shape for the sake of being healthier one way that is geared towards older men and women is circuit training. Circuit training allows easy movement of the joints and tendons and is especially useful for anyone getting over an injury or who haven't worked out in a while.

Circuit training is a way of exercising that has you moving from one exercise to the next with minimal rest. You are able to combine a number of body part workouts in a total of 30 minutes giving you 30 seconds of rest between. Using a lighter weight with higher repetitions are easy on the joints and tendons and keeps your muscles lean. If bulking up is what you're after do the opposite by using heavier weights and lower repetitions. Use a weight where you won't hurt yourself and that you can get a good 3 reps without too much struggle ( a lower repetitions is between 6-9).

To start yourself off organize a time out of your day that will be available every week. After you have decided on the most convenient amount of time, divide that time in half and position your excersises around that. It is recommended to stick with 5 or 6 different excercises, more than this can be too intensive. After you have alotted time for each excersise work your 30 second breaks between each one. After you are done repeat your circuit twice or three times if you desire.

Circuit training is a great way of improving mobility, strength and stamina. This is ideal for a beginner or someone trying to get back into working out.

Right now I am working on the ABs diet. It's been working pretty well. I also do pilates to tone my body. Check out Women's Health Magazine it's pretty new, a spin off of Men's health. Every issue is packed full of helpful information to stay fit and healthy. I love it!

I recently lost 40lbs, and it took me about 9 months, which is longer than I expected, but you need to realize that the weight doesn't just drop off like you may think. Something I reccommend is drinking 3 cups of green tea a day, because it's supposed to increase you metabolism by 13 percent and it also relaxes you and fights cancer and heart disease. It may not taste very goos, but if you add just a little sugar or lemon juice, it's drinkable.
