Are "new question for you" emails really for you specifically?

Asked by perfectsixthsense about 1 year ago, 1 answer.
Send me Fun Mail

When you receive an e-mail with the subject 'There's a new question for you in the X category', does that mean that the asker wanted to ask *me* specifically that question, or I just receive e-mails with whatever new questions appear in the categories that interest me?

I already received 2 e-mails of that type, and I think I should try harder if those people were actually counting on my answer. Thanks in advance for your answers.

The questions you get in email are based on your subscription preferences:
To view, update or change the categories that send you questions, visit here:

The question alert is to help people get advice, fast, and relevant, from other community members. I answer a few questions / day, other people answer more, and some only answer once a week or month (or year). Any amount you can help is appreciated, and when you do give advice, ideally, you provide answers that are relevant, helpful, and polite.

Hope that helps.
