New puppies

Okay, I don't need any one who isn't going to give good advice. I know to get dogs fixed, okay.

Okay, so my boyfriend's beagle is about to have puppies within the next week. I just started a new job thirty minutes away from home. His job told him that he will be out of town all next week, meaning that he won't be staying at home. Giving the circumstances if she doesn't have the puppies this weekend do you think she will be okay if she has them by herself while he is gone? We have arranged for my sister to stop by during her lunch break to check up on her and I will take over when I get off work at 5.

I know it is their instinct to take care of their puppies but I know there are cases where dogs can neglect them.
She is a very sweet, loving, and obedient dog. We have already set up her nesting spot to have the puppies. She should be fine doing it on her own? I can't bring her to my house because my parents won't allow it and I don't want to push any responsibility on them.

IDogs usually follow their instincts during birth, so you should only have to assist her if there appears to be something going wrong or if she starts panicking. Keep the birthed puppies away from her feet as she will move around during the process. I'm not sure they should be left alone during the birth. There is always a chance something could go wrong, and she would need help. It happened to a co-workers dog. All the puppies were coming out one after another, a couple minutes apart until after the 4th one. They had to contact the vet. because # 4 wasnt coming out. After about 20 mins. it finally did, and they thought it was dead. She managed to pull through.

Someone should stay with the dog especially if it is her 1st litter. There is a lot that can go wrong and when it does you need to be able to react quickly if need be. I never leave my girls alone in the last week of their pregnancy. Of the 4 litters we have had, all needed some type of assistance from us. We have had to revive a pup or 2 along the way.
After the pups are born, make sure to check inside their mouths for any signs of cleft palate. Make sure they all begin to nurse as soon as possible Make sure to weigh them at least every other day to make sure they are all eating enough and growing.
