If New Orleans and the Mississippi Coast get wiped out by Hurricane Gustov, the second one in 3 years, does that show that the lifestyle that is promoted there might be bad? I mean bad Karma, sinful, or damnable?

...which seems more likely? Divine intervention in the form of perfectly deniable tropical storms, or perfectly natural tropical storms hitting an area that's right smack dab in the area that tends to get these things?

Seriously, doesn't it seem just a little bit silly to suppose that god would only wipe out those 'evil' cities that happen to be in areas where this would happen anyway? Why doesn't he send huge, incredibly unlikely tropical storms to San Francisco? Or better yet, somewhere even less likely? Why does "god's vengeance" always take the form of something that happens naturally all the time?

.. no, it would have nothing to do with their lifestyle, or what the people choose to do there.. it just means they have bad weather. that's it. natural disasters have nothing to do with god or jesus or karma or any of that kind of crap.

God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow - He knows those who follow Him and seek Him / knows their heart - He gives Mercy (keeps us from harm) and Grace (gives us what we don't deserve) and He is a Faithful and Just God - only He knows the outcome.

I dont think on those terms. Though a natural disaster is a way to exspose humanity. Do we really care about our neighbors? We will find out when the storm hits. That is when character surfaces. Are we going to sit around on our duffs and wait for the Government to save us? You wait here for George Bush's Presidential limo to pick you up, Ima go over here! By the way, do you mind if I push your momma who is in a wheel chair, just in case his limmo doesnt show?

I don't believe in a G-d that would destroy an area just for revenge for their sin.
According to you Christians, isn't that what happens when you die?

So now are we to believe that you are damned if you do and damned if you don't ?
G-d punishes you while you are alive and then also after you die?

I think if G-d were going to wipe out a bunch of sinners, he might start with the many churches that preach one thing and live another.

Christians, pick one and go with it. You live a life of sin and when you die, you burn in hell OR you live a life of sin and G-d wipes out your entire city.
All of this conflicting stuff is getting too confusing for us sinners.

So God would kill innocent kids in order to punish the wicked? Hmm not a very nice God...

If that was true don't you thin las vegas would have been blown up by now? And california to have the biggest earthquake and fall into the ocean? Come on get serious. I know a lot of good people who live in lousiana. In fact why is earth still around? Everywhere you go has bad people who make poor decisions in lifestyle.

YOU ARE RIGHT, WE SHOULD JUST LET THEM DIE!

Many of the people living on the Gulf Coast are unable to leave due to family ties, money, etc.
How calloused of you!

...if that were true, hurricanes would hit Las Vegas rather than cities which are poorly educated and highly religious, like New Orleans. Every major city has it's red light district. New Orleans' is just more famous than most.

Great question...

Research the date of Katrina .

See what event was scheduled at the time.

Research Gustov.

See what event was in progress at the time.

Very interesting.

Also, consider :

At the time of this posting, Gustov, appears to have lessened... no one yet, knows for sure, what is going to happen, however, considering this question, Could Katrina have had something to do with judgement? And could it be that Gustov, is also, part of that judgement...

If Gustov lessens... or vears away... what would that say to us? Considering we think that God might possibly be involved.

Oh, absolutely. God hates republicans and *insert group of choice*, and chooses to show his displeasure by destroying property and causing the death of hundreds or thousands of people* without regard to innoncence or religion**.

* Actually, in Katrina, most of the deaths came about because of the appalling relief efforts.
** Strangely, whenever someone claims a disaster is divine intervention, there's no correlation: The proportion of believers who get killed exactly matches that of the overall population.

I don't know but it really scares me bc I have 2 really good friends that I talk to on the computer and I really like talking to them. So if something ever happened to them I don't know what would happen to me.
