New girl meets asian guy :)

Okay, so I recently moved to a new school and everyone here dates. It seems weird to them that someone like me has never dated anyone (due to my horribly strict father)
Being the new girl has gotten me some popularity [[and all the pop girls date]] and...

im afraid if I dont soon im going to lose this popularity,
So thats the first part of the problem, but secondly I really like this asian guy who plays waterpolo, lacrosse, and skateboards, not to mention a 4.0 gpa. hes smart and popular, plays sports like me, has a cute smile.
The other day after school I said hi as he was passing with his friennz and they screamed after would you be his girlfriend (not because he liked me or anything but b/c he wants a girlfriend) I cud tell his friennz were joking around and they kept walking so I did too.
Im really interested; and I was wondering how long I shud wait to ask him out. We arent good friends because I met him 2 weeks ago.

I would start just talking to him at school in the hallways at lunch or whatever. Get to know him better, be friendly with a hint of flirtyness and after a few days you can ask him - just so you dont freak him out by asking him like just totally randomly.

start talking to him now. and give hints. but boys takee agges sometimes to get hints so keep patientt
