Nerve endings?

The reason im asking so many questions about the eye is because I have a test on it. And I want to make sure I konw a lot of stuff. So heres my question. Are there more nerve ending closer back to the optic nerve then the front? I would think so but im just checking

Well the optic nerve is in the back of the eye where from there it goes to the sensory nureons then internureons to go to the brain to be interperted into information
