Why are you wanting to put on weight? Is there any particular reason...ie: school sport (wrestling)? Gaining weight should be a snap unless you have some sort of thyroid condition. Just make sure you are gaining weight in a healthy manor. It's pretty simple...You have to increase the ammount of calories you are taking in each day and make sure you aren't burning them all off by extra activity (please do continue to be active if you already are, which it seems to me by your height and weight that you are); if you haven't tried lifting weights, that's a sure fire way to build muscle (which makes you gain weight and in a healthy way).

May I ask, why do you want to gain weight? Im 13 and I weigh about 80...im not worried. I eat tons of candy and other unhealthy things (and of course healthy things too) I can not gain weight. Im perfectly healthy, infact I have a very strong immune system. Is there a reason you want to gain weight?

You are a little underweight.
Try protein shakes and supplements, you should get them at the vitamin store...

How to GAIN weight?

First, determine from the information below, what your weight should be. Then set yourself goals of a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you see yourself meeting your goals it becomes easier.

BMI (Body Mass Index) is a measurement of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both men and women between the ages of 18 and 65 years.

"How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?"

One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it's not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

"What should a minimum calorie intake be?"

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

try adding meal replacement bars and shakes along to your regular meals. my friend was underweight and this is what her doctor told her to do and it helped. they also contain the nutrients you body needs and the weight you gain will be healthy weight and not hurt your heart or other organs
