Need to give an informative speech for college?

I need to give an informative speech for college.
Well, the instructor for the speech class I'm taking for college is having us choose a topic to give a informative speech on. She said that it could be something we are comfortable with and something we like.
I decided to inform the audience on my church which is the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I need to create an outline for the informative speech and, bring in a rough draft on Monday. I need to give three points and details. I was going to do the characteristics of the church.
Could you all give me some ideas for three main points and details? I would appreciate it.
This class is a college level class.

you are brave honey!!! I am a member too and I know how you feel. would be a great topic..and opportunity, but you are going to be bombarded with questions and comments for months after. I almost would consider a different topic if I were you...I don't know...thats a tuff one!!!
