How can I get my parents to like my boyfriend?

me and my guy have been dating on and off for almost 2 years. We had a rocky beginning and realized that our breaks were because of lack of comunication so we got over all that stuff early on and now we've been steady and problem free for 8 months now. I love my guy but my parents don't. I think that they thought that he didn't treat me right and they say they don't hate him but dad will make these jokes everyonce in while that makes me think differntly. my boyfreind is afraid to come over because of the tension he feel especially toward me dad. I tried to explain that my dad is quite and a little anti social. anyways anone got advice because both my family and my guy are very important to me.

Your boyfriend needs to step up (not be afraid) and prove to your parents, he is the right man for their daughter..Good luck !!

its all good now he came on a fam vacation with me and so everyone was forced to get to know each other. now everyone's getting along thanks for the advice though
