Need help with a story idea.

I need an idea, plot, setting, whatever fro a story. I want the story to be a dramtic one that might make you shed a tear. but it can be an action drama ot a romance drama whatever. I just need an idea.

do one on a circus after hours, and all the characters are weird and freaky lol, that would be awesome, oh, and one of them gets murdered or something, and they don't no who

mmm sicological problems that affect a girl who is 17.
maybe she thinks she sees ghost or somthing and it turns out she was crazy cause of a sad mysterious event that happened in her childhood

to come up with a premis for a story look at the world around you

do you see any interestig people walking around like the loner school teacher or the pretty cheerleader who when she thinks no one is looking is miserable
that kind of thing pick a person in the crowd and then make up a character name and a back story

e.g mr thompson the math teacher, he always walks with a breif case and never lets it out of his sight he is always grumpy and mean set the scene of this mean miser character where infact he keeps a picture of his dead wife in the briefcase and is desperatly lonely and lost with out his dear mary ...do this over and over until you have a cast

look for interesting settings go to the library and look up pictures from around the world or local historical photographs choose a setting

occupations for you character how do they interact with each other

once you have exorcised your creative muscles you should then be able to come up with a plot ... doesnt matter if you change it a couple of times its your story
tweek it until your happy with it
make sure all main character have a good back story as it will tell you why your character is the way he is

have a beginning middle and an end

I write the backstories of each of my characters first then work on the story so I know intimatly my stars

good luck and have fun with it (dont worry about spelling and grammer till the final draft)
