I'm in love with a Beautiful Black 1950 Desoto which needs restoring if after I buy it.
I need to know (from experienced Mechanics would be Helpful) from anyone whom may know about Restoring cars and if there is a special manual for Classic cars that I can possibly use to teach myself to Restoring my own car! I really want to be a hobbiest machanic and know All I can about cars (mainly Classics) on how things work and go together.

Thanks for your Advice. . Any adivce relating to or not is Still Great, Thanks!!

I think I can help you. I'm fixing up a car myself. You mind if I can see pic of it. I can help you out a lot more once I see the parts of the car that need to be restored. Ill check in later.

This web site might help also http://www.popularmechanics.com/automotive/reader_rides/1271211.html?page=1

start to research on the makers, model, manufacturer of your car, and the availabilty of spare parts.. to restore the body is easy... if body parts are not availble it can be fabricated or customized. the engine parts thats you going to look for. and engine is the most important its useless w/out it. but if you cant find it anywhere, you have no choice but to change the engine. hope I helped

Sure! Here's a pic of the car,
It looks like it may need a lot of restoring to in the inside too.
That's why the man recommends I buy both together cause the other one
(in light grey with flames) is equipped with more things than the other one
want. Crazy isn't it?

Wow, its nice. I wasn't expecting it to be in this good of condition.

I don't see the gray one though.

I bet a good wash and then gone over with turtle wax and chrome polish it will make the car look a 110% better.

You might be ably to find parts for the inside of this car in a junkyard.
You'd be surprised what you could find in a junkyard.

But then again parts for this car might berair.

It probably would be smart to buy both cars ,but you should call around first and see if anyone has any parts before spending all your money.

If you purchase either one of them, You should change all the fluids in the car because by the dust it looks to have been sitting a while. Also if the tires are dry roughed you should change them.

From what Can see there arnt any dents but there are any you can take them out with a Car Dent Puller. You may need to go over the spot will tuchup paint after. This will save you more money, but if you want to get it professionally done you can take your car to a body shop.

Well that's for the outside. Good luck!

Do you know if there are any problems on how the car runs?

If there are any rust spots this site will help:

It IS a very nice Vehicle. The grey one here (ugh , wouldn't upload before) has all parts except the Grill. "If you buy both, you can make a really nice car!" The seller said to me.
" It has $800 worth of Brand New tires on em'." (The Black one)
