Aids testing

what do doctors do when testing you for hiv and aids? how long does it take for them to get results back?

I'm not positive on this one,But Im pretty sure they test through blood,or maybe urine.
It takes about a week for the results.

They draw some blood (not a lot) and then send it off to a lab. They will notify you when the results come in.

It is a blood test and it should only take a day or couple of day depending on which lab. I had to have one before surgery a couple of weeks ago, it's a standard test before surgery. I did learn that there are two types of HIV (1 2), which I did not know before. My tests were negative (just as I thought)...hope the same for you!!!

there is a new test out now that is a mouth swab test. they swab the inside of your cheeks and you get the results back in 20 mins.
