How can i stop biting my nails?

I have been biting my nails for six years. I tried painting them but that doesn't work because I bite the polish. Ugh. It's completely sub-conscious. But I only bitE when I'm at home with my family or with people I'm comfortable with. HELP!!!

my friend had the same problem
and she just asked me to slap her whenever I saw her bitin her nails
it took like a 2 weeks for her to break the habit
altho I got quite a few wierd looks 4 jus walkin up 2 her an slappin her
it worked really well

I think I will try acrylic nails. That's probably the only thing I haven't tried yet.

hmm well you could try not nail polish but nail polish remover
even though you might not have nail polish but if you just put a
little on and then rup it off the taste stays for a long time
it might work for you :]
