Ok, I personally have always found Hades completely alluring. I though he was greatly misunderstood and neglect by all others. I found his persona to have many intact and impertinent attributes and in many ways I thought he resembles human kind...I though he paralleled me during some moments in my life. It was very unruly that he had to live in the underworld and be the keeper of all evil. His name actually means "The Invisible" which is also quite significant. It was said that he had a pitiless heart...but he fell for Persephone so much so that he kidnapped her...later releasing her. Maybe Im a romantic, but I definitely saw a different side to him...a side that's not greatly spoken of...

My favorite hero from mythology is Prometheus. Prometheus stole fire from Zeus and gave it to mortals. Prometheus was the only hero willing to stand up to Zeus. Of course Prometheus pays quite a price for his theft, he is chained and his liver is pecked out daily which he has to continue to endure because he is immortal. In some versions of the myth he is freed by Heracles.

I'm not sure what deity you're referencing here, but it isn't Hades.

It's a popular misconception that Hades was a neglected, brooding, sulky, gloomy, even evil character, but according to the original myths, nothing could be farther from the truth. He was very often persuaded by heartfelt emotion and the struggles of human beings, and his being lord of the underworld had nothing to do with his personality but was, in a sense, a reward for his heroism in battle.

The underworld of Greek myth, it should be noted as well, was not a place of evil or wickedness or pain or damnation. All souls, good and evil alike, ended up in the underworld after death. And so your relating to Hades as a "keeper of evil" is misplaced. Hades was the custodian of a world as real and significant to the Greeks as the corporeal one. It wasn't until later mythologies that the idea of an "evil afterlife" and a "good afterlife" was born.

So it is that you are not exactly seeing a "different side" to Hades, but the side you were supposed to be seeing all along.

Prometheus sounds cool. I wonder if he would have stole the fire if he knew what was going to happen to him

...either Perseus, or Odysseus.

But I also like Artemis (Greek), or maybe Loki (Norse)

*thinks more*

Jesus is a good one too.

...maybe it was the 'Hades' from the Disney movie?
