Myspace vs. funadvice, and why?

So someone asked this question recently: Myspace or FunAdvice?

I was surprised to see that the majority of the answers were for Myspace. What the asker didn't ask you all was *why* and that's why I'd like to know: For anyone who answered Myspace, WHY is it better?

who in the world would choose funadvice over myspace thats sooo weird,myspace beats funadvice by like a billion,out of the question!!!

well I think its because on myspace your get to personalize your page more with layouts and icons and stuff 4rom myhotcomments and music also myspace has vidos

I love FunAdvice 100% better then myspace... the only thing is that myspace has the pretty fun feature where you can add songs to your profile and backgrounds and its a better way of expressing yourself!!! But I would never chose myspace over FunAdvice ...

well, I have both accounts and I enjoy them both equally.

one is not betterthan the other, they're two different sites.

this site is more for help and advice while myspace is more for mingling and meeting new people.

they can both be used for either sources, but they have their principal purposes.

you just need more options on this site.

I used to have a myspace until it caused a lot of trouble
atleast on funadvice you can be annonyoms and still talk to others

Agreed with suzy -- it's a peculiar comparison, like saying "Which do you enjoy more, sea scallops or futons?" Each site fulfills a very different function. Trying to make either one more like the other would result in neither being good for much of anything. Look what happened with the N-Gage.

myspace has a lot of music on it, which I love going through new bands and stuff.

I sure do enjor reading everyone's comments. Sometimes I read stuff and go "duh! why didn't I think of that!" I have a myspace account also and for some reason I am here, on this site, WAAAYYY more! I do the picture thing on myspace for all my family in Cali to see. This site just makes me feel good when people funmail me to tell me thanks for the help.

Well you get updates, you can decorate, and place music on the profile so I guess that can be why.

I love funadvice because its very helpful if you need an answer to something..but I also think myspace is better because you can customize your page more and ..I don't know its just a lot funner then funadvice 4 me lol ...I think its because all my frends have myspaces so its a good way to keep in touch but I dont really noe anyone here

I don't like MySpace but I think the reason why people may have said "MySpace" instead of "FunAdvice" is because they love the fact they have customized profiles. A lot of people take pride in their profile because they put it together and they feel it represents them as a individual.

YOU CAN DO a lot OF THINGS ON MYSPACE.. LIKE LAYOUTS.. FRIENDS.. MAKING YOUR PHOTOS COME ALIVE WITH DIFFERENT EFFECTS.. BUT IM KINDA NEW HERE . I HAVE YAHOO Q & A AND WINDOWS LIVE Q & A --I GO TO ALL OF THEM ..

I'm sorry, I would have to say Myspace for many reasons... #1, they are a lot more leniant on rules, #2, You can show your art or music off without getting it deleted or yelled at, even if the music is explicit. #3, it is more customizable, and the network for making friends or buisiness connections is HUGE, I would almost say untouchable by any other site out there. #4, it has little stupid games that interact with other members... They're fun! Also, the whole having your own page that you can edit or create is pretty awesome, and a place to upload your music right in their server!

Now this is not to disrespect Funadvice. This site is awesome in it's own way. But it's relativly small compared to Myspace... This is different in the fact that it's purpose is different as some other peope have stated.

things to make Funadvice better...

1. Upgrade server size.
2. Add the capability of uploading music, music players are fairly simple to create and could be done pretty easily. for now, limit members on size, there are programs that can reduce MP3 size enough to make it reasonable on server space. Limit members to a certian amount of songs like 4 or 6. Also, make charts, a rating system, for poetry, music, photography, art...
3. Allow members a homepage. Fully customizable. allow interaction between the forums and the homepage. Don't mimic myspace, make it funadvice style!
4. Allow a little more freedom on the forums, maybe add some more categories, like Instead of general questions, a general discussion. Add a Poetry section, and if you're in the music section and you want to link up to your music, don't delete the posts... this site is great, and I'll keep trying to think of suggestions to help make the site better.

Well rite now im on both sites lol but I'd have 2 say myspace b/c of the obvious reasons: backgrounds, music, finding people you havent spoke 2 and a while such as family, and all the decorations you get 2 put on your page, all your friends are on there, and meet people...well I only met 1 person lol but I like it. It can get boring 2 so thats why I come on here. I like this site a lot because it helps answer a whole bunch of questions...even I can ask questions I would b scared 2 say b/c I can just ask anonymously =]

well I like myspace but my mom is too over protective and wont let me have one so I wont put this or that site down its jsut mean the people that created this site spent their time and effort and if you put this sit edown then you are just a mean person
