My teddy's teeth knocked out

No name dog Asked by jsparrowlvr about 1 year ago, 1 answer.

I know that Teddy's take longer than a lot of dogs to mature, including their dental growth. Just a little worried because I noticed this evening that two or three of my six month old Teddy's bottom front teeth are missing. Not sure if they would be...

baby teeth or adult teeth. He's very spunky and is quite a chewer... Not sure if they fell out naturally or if they were knocked out while playing with our other dog. Anyone know an average age for this type of dog to lose their teeth?

Dogs usually lose their teeth starting at 4 months...BUT, your pup may have had what could have become a double row of teeth (baby teeth, with the adult teeth coming in behind)...the adult teeth may very well be coming in now that they've pushed the baby teeth out. Check her in a couple of days and see if there are new teeth coming in.

She'd darn near have to catch rocks to knock out teeth...playing with her buddy wouldn't do that.

She also may have a genetic predisposition...

Give it a few days and then take another look.
