thsi is what is going on. the 8 year old was used to being the center of attention. and now he's not. that is how the 8 year old sees it. maybe you should sit your son down and explain to him in a way that an 8 year old will understand that sometimes someone needs a little bit more attention because your brother was very very sick. reassure him that he is still your number one guy and that you love him very much. maybe you should spend a day or two every week with just you and him. that might make things a bit easier on him. and by the way, you are a good mother if this is a concern you have. don't get discouraged. at least he hasn't done something like light himself on fire because a religious cult made him do it. (im trying to get you to crack a smile with that last thing by the way) you'll be alright. it will just take some readjusting on your son's part.

Okay, so weird question. My eight year old son is jealous of the attention that my two year old brother gets from everyone. I have done my best to focus most of my attention on Timmy now that Christopher's health has stabilized and thought I was doing...
really well until this morning, when Timmy burst out saying that I love Chris more than him. Which is so not true, just the opposite in fact, but how can I explain that when Timmy is eight. I don't want him going around telling Chris that. It's so frustrating. I am at a loss as what to do. I really thought I was a good mother!
