Why are my periods so random?

my periods are sooo random like im not even kidding...like when I first started it stayed for about 4 days then it came back 5 months later for about 3 days then like 10 days later it was back for only one day then disappeared for like 2 months tlk about WEIRD! whats going on? is something wrong with me and yes I have told my mother but she says its probably nothing..is it really just NOTHING?

I have the same problem, so I went to my doctor and she said its totally normal being a teen and all but if it hasn't normalised by the time your 18 you should get it checked out.

my doctor says when you first get your periods they are like that... very random in the months but once you get older it should go normally

Seriously periods just are messed up! As long as you don't have any severe pain (I.e. you can't actually move due to pain) or you don't faint due to very heavy blood loss then there is not much to worry about. Stress and also being underweight can be causes of irregular periods but it's really nothing to worry about! Trust me my periods are exactly the same I have missed for 5 months then 2 months then I had my period for my normal 6 days then after a week I had another REALLY heavy 6 days. It's completely crazy but that is just periods for ya! Also there seems to be no hope for the future either-my sis-in-law still has irregular periods at the age of 25! =(
