My parent's never listen!

Me with my old camera :) Asked by danielbt1989 8 months ago, 5 answers.

My mom is really getting on my nerves about the way I save my money

This past month I started working daytime hours at a grocery store, getting lots of money every Thursday ($200-300)

And I have around $300 in my bank account because I had a bill...

crisis to pay off, and she's thinks that I don't have any money left because I spend it every week.

While it may be partially true, I don't splurge it all away like some people do. I at least leave $50 - $100 dollars in my account if I really need to spend my money on certain necessities

I've had a bad bill crisis for that month from paying off my huge credit card bill from Christmas Shopping (Note to self: Don't use credit card next year) (Which I Finally did pay off :D) to my cell phone bill (Just paid it off now) and that has kept me from saving my money

While she does have good intentions of opening me a savings account where I can't get at, she's just not understanding the tough time I had paying off the bills and not spending my money.

Whenever I tell her my side of the situation, she just nods and says I understand, but... EVERYTIME!! I know she doesn't understand S**t!

If at all, she understands about 25% of what I'm telling her! And she has the nerve to get pissed at me for not listening to her, when I always have to and do!!

I'm getting sick of her being such a hypocrite that way!

In everyone of these situations, I end up just shutting my mouth and letting her walk away the winner! I don't understand why Parents like mine, always Have to dominate over their Offspring!

Help!

Don't talk money with her, as she has shown she can't handle discussing it with you.

She obviously loves you a lot and wants you to be ok in these hard times - she is stressed - put your arm around her and assure her: Mom, I know you worry about me and savings, but don't - I realize how very important it is, I'll be fine...Take care !!

Show her three envelopes: one for giving, one for saving and one for spending. Fill each one with the appropriate IOUs or actual amounts and make it happen every pay period. Bank what you can.
Just a Crown Financial solution example there.
Have a great one.

uhm...wheres' your dad?...you've posted what three times about your bad parents and all of them have been about your mom...
you take her too seriously you need to learn to tune her out...
she cares...yes we know but there's such a thing as caring tooo much...
don't think of conversations with her as a battle...don't fight her...don't object...let her talk...you will hear but you will not listen...
trust me it doesn't take as much energy and she thinks she won... operative word being think
