You shouldn't worry about it too much. I'm 28 years old, and although I love my job, I know it's not permenant so really I still don't know what I want to do with my life. Just take life a day at a time and keep your eyes open to new experiences.

And know that whatever you may choose now, before college, during or after college, nothing is permenant if you don't want it to be. I've know plenty of people who have done an about-face on their career 10, 20, 30 years into their career, perfectly happy and no regrets. Just make sure you like (better yet love) what you do, thats worth so much more than any amount of money (as long as the bills are covered!)

Don't sweat it. When I was in 9th grade I wanted to be a pilot but that didn't work out. Then I wanted to be a musician but that too didn't work out. Now I do computers and networks.

Just try to do well in all your subjects so you will have all your options open and you should be fine.

Don't worry, still plenty of time - for some ideas (to see if they interest you) you might visit your guidance counselor's office where they can give you info on different careers - you could visit the Library for a book on job descriptions - you could watch tv channels like Discovery, A&E, etc for some ideas - still, you have plenty of time - ask some trusted adults around what they might recommend and the education requirements, etc...I wish you the very best and don't hesitate to use this site for more questions/help !!

Hey!
I know exactly how you feel I was in 9th grade last year and had the same feeling. At the end of the school year my counseler asked me what I 'might' want to do when I'm older and I told her a bunch of things and she said that I shouldn't worry about it because as I go through high school I'll learn a lot more about myself and what my interests are. Plus you have a lot of time, so don't worry. Must middle schoolers who I know came into the high school expecting themselves to have to pick one thing to do for the rest of there lifes later to find out that they really don't have to worry. Also you really don't have to choose one job to do for the rest of your life right after you graduate too. You can do something that you want to do and if it doesn't work out try another job that you might be interested in. Good Luck! and if you have anymore concerns about school this year don't hesitate to FunMail me! no matter how little the question may be.

At your age it is 100% normal if you do not know or just hesitating of that how do you want to spend your life. If you feel the same when you are at 19, then it is time to be worry about it (but not much !!) Till that just live your 9, 10, 11 etc yo life.
