My industrial piercing

So I got the industrial almost a week ago. It has been fine for the first couple days. But in the past 2 days, it looks all puffy and swollen. And I was looking at my neck (the same side as the ear I did it in) and I started to feel a bump. Both...

It doesn't sound normal - you need to get it checked out before its too late. I had an infected eyebrow piercing and I waited too long to get it checked so they had to surgically remove it. So go now before it gets really bad.

Maybe your neck has become swollen because the glands are fighting the infection in your ear.
Clean it gently with antibacterial wash or salt and water.
Don't use cotton wall because the fibres can get stuck and be a breeding ground for even more bacteria.
By sterile packed compresses from a pharmacy.

my friend is thinkin about gettin an industial peircing and I am a friad that she will die of a terrible infection and wont live very long because of these circumstances...can someone please tell me the real dangers.
