My friend and her boyfriend - please help

My close friend for years has recently been going out with this guy, David* for about a week or so. She has also been struggling with a bad breakup with her previous boyfriend, Scott* from about a month ago, and after that, she came across her new boyfriend, who's David. So, the thing is that David likes my friend a lot, but she doesn't have the same feelings as him. To pretty much make a long story short, she gave him a chance, but she didn't like him as much as David likes her. For the most part, she could only see him as a friend.

She has been wanting to tell David how she feels, though afraid to see his reaction and considering that he is considered a sensitive guy, she doesn't want to take any chances. She is still with him, but she seems more discouraged everyday and you could see that he's totally not into him. David is always all over her and makes out with her constantly.

...and what do I have to do with this you may ask? Well I'm her close friend and I don't want her to do something she doesn't want to do. My impression that I get is that she's trying to please him and doesn't want to hurt David's feelings, you know? I keep convincing her to talk to him and explain that she's not sure how the whole dating thing is going to work out, but she hasn't attempted to talk to him about it.

Do you think my friend will someday give him and be honest with this guy?

If she doesnt get honest with him soon, then he will keep wanting to go farther and farther with her. The more she acts like she likes him, then the more hurt he will be.

okayy. you need to tell your friend that she needs to tell him FAST. you say that shes worried about hurting his feelings? well think of how badly its going to hurt him if she waits longer. my friend has been in a relationship similar to that only it was the other way around. she was crazy for this guy but he didnt want anything to do with her. he was only dating her because he felt bad. they were dating for a while. she was extremely happy because this was her first boyfriend and she thought that it was actually working out pretty nicely. when he finally decided that he was going to tell her that he didnt really like her all that much (( two months later )) she was crushed. simply because she thought that he actually liked her for so long.

it seems to me like your friend just needs to tell him that she thinks they are better off as friends. ASAP.
