My female cousin

Thunder Robot Asked by funadvice 25 days ago, 6 answers.

My cousin is married for a long time with two girls (one who is an adult, and one who is a teenager.)

About two years ago when the older girl graduated college my cousin, her husband, the younger girl, my mom, sister, etc went to the graduation - it was a weekend event. Right after the ceremony my cousin somehow got separated from us and when her husband found her she was crying because she was afraid we left without her.

It is two years later and we thought she was getting better. Her spirits were better, she was no longer irritable. However, she (along with her family) was over at my house last night and 2 nite, but when her husband went to get the car he had to get out and escort her to the car - which was just out the door. She wont go alone. WHY

She could be scared for several reasons - something might have happened to her in her past that haunts her still.

I have weird reactions sometimes when I cant find people... or if I think they've left without me (completely irrational and ridiculous I know) but I start to panic... I'm not entirely sure why... I have to keep an eye on people I'm with if we're out somewhere like the mall...

She sounds like she has a phobia or maybe some sort of social anxiety, she may not even know why she feels that way...

It sounds to me like she has agrophobia. She really should seek medical attention for this problem as it can get to the point where she might not leave the house at all.

Dear voterperson,
this person is suffering from a psychological problem. She needs counselling. You stated even after 2 years she was suffering from being left alone at graduation??? Okay, there is much more to this story and her condition. If she isn't in counselling she needs to be.
Sue...good luck
